Get Healthy Hair This Autumn
After a summer of sunshine, salty waves, and maybe a little too much dry shampoo, your hair might be feeling... less than fabulous. Think limp strands, frazzled ends, and a dry, flaky scalp. Sound familiar? You’re not alone. And now that autumn’s here—with cooler temps and indoor heating in full blast—your hair’s in for even more stress. It’s the perfect storm for dull, dehydrated locks. But don’t worry—we’ve got the tips (and treatments) to bring your hair back to life.
Hydration is key
Colder weather has a nasty way of sucking moisture from your strands, causing static and frizz. The solution is to hydrate your hair at every opportunity. If you are not already using a shampoo for dry hair, now is the time to switch to a moisturising and cleansing formula. Top tip: a sulphate-free shampoo that features naturally-derived nourishing properties is ideal for getting moisture deep into the hair shaft. Our Shampoo for Dandruff & Dry Scalp, free from silicone and paraffin, prevents dandruff by gently cleansing your hair and soothing your dry scalp. Organic rosemary has anti-inflammatory properties to help soothe dry or irritated skin, in turn reducing any flakiness, whilst organic juniper wood oil has antiseptic benefits that naturally treat and relax the scalp.
Our Conditioner for Shine & Easy Comb, formulated with organic burdock root and organic pomegranate, cares greatly for each, strengthens your locks and adds a healthy shine.
Use a hair mask or hair oil to add moisture
Hair oils aren’t just for shine; they’re perfect for sealing in moisture and preventing frizz, especially during windy autumn days. Add a lightweight oil, like argan or jojoba, to your routine by applying a few drops to your ends after washing your hair. This will help keep your strands smooth and hydrated without weighing them down.
Our Wondertree Intensive Hair Oil is perfect for caring and nourishing the hair’s lengths and tips. Enriched with organic argan oil, organic coconut oil and organic burdock root oil that are pure and precious oils used as a traditional plant secret for beautiful, glossy hair. For daily care, apply a small quantity into the hair lengths and tips. For use as a hair treatment, apply the hair oil to the hair lengths and roots, leave for up to 30minutes before washing the hair.
Limit heat styling
We get it—air-drying your hair in the chilly autumn months isn’t exactly comfortable. But giving your strands a break from hot tools can go a long way in preserving moisture and preventing damage. If going completely heat-free isn’t realistic, try letting your hair air-dry about 60% before reaching for the hairdryer. It’s a simple switch that can make a big difference. Just remember to use a heat resistant spray.
Maintain a balanced diet
Healthy hair starts from the inside out. That means eating a balanced diet, staying well-hydrated, and giving your body the right nutrients—sometimes with a little help from quality supplements. Healthy fats, found in foods like oily fish, avocados, nuts, and seeds, help your body to produce natural scalp oils that nourish and protect the hair shaft. The result? Moisture stays locked in, helping to promote shinier, stronger, and healthier hair—from the inside out.
